WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR - Oahu

 

We are currently seeking for a certified and experienced Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our Oahu team. The Operator independently performs a variety of skilled technical duties in the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities.

  • Operate and adjust treatment plant pumps, motors, feeders and other equipment to maintain appropriate plant operations.
  • Maintain, compile and update plant operations logs and reports.
  • Mix and add treatment chemicals; ensure adequate chemical application according to regulations and guidelines.
  • Install, maintain, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and service plant operations machinery and equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, reservoirs, and feeders.
  • Collect and document samples and perform a variety of routine water quality laboratory tests.
  • Perform general plant facility maintenance such as cleaning, painting, and repairing plant facilities; perform various grounds maintenance duties as required.

 Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of recent related work experience demonstrating sufficient scope, quality and competence in working with water systems, involving the performance of water treatment activities.
  • Current Hawaii Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) Grade 2 certification; or a current State Water Treatment Plant Operator certification. (If selected, must apply for reciprocity).
  • Current driver’s license with a clean traffic abstract.
  • Must be able to clear background checks for access to secure work sites.
  • Able to pass the drug and alcohol screen test, including pre-employment testing, post-accident testing and random testing.
  • Available to work after office hours to respond to trouble calls.

Office Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
