Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant - Oahu

 

 

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper – Administrative Assistant. This position's main focus is auditing/correcting timesheets, payroll processing, bookkeeping and maintaining accurate cost accounting records. This position will also support the back of the house functions such as auditing closed work orders, invoicing and accounts receivables.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Audits posted timesheets in QB.
  • Researches and follows up on payroll discrepancies and/or clarification of posted entries.
  • Prepare, review and analyzes quarterly and year-end reports related to specific service lines for Profit and Loss.
  • Prepare and reviews annual Profit and Cents reports.
  • Prepare and reviews year end vendor information to ensure accuracy; prepares listing for 1099 information return.
  • Tracks distribution and expenses related to the various projects within the water system.
  • Tracks income and expenses for assigned water systems owned by the Department of Defense; data enter and tracks information in an accounting software system and excel spreadsheets. Provides reports as requested.
  • Maintains and audits the GL accounts to ensure data integrity.
  • Reviews work orders to ensure accuracy and completeness; follows up with the Admin Assistant and/or Team Leader for clarification or missing information and makes corrections as needed.
  • Reviews invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness; makes revisions as needed; sends out completed invoices to vendors and/or customers.

 

Qualified candidates should have and are:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Business Administration or 3-5 years of recent bookkeeping or accounting work experience (preferably in the construction industry).
  • Highly skilled and knowledgeable with QuickBooks.
  • Able to navigate and create formulas in Excel.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Familiar with and has working knowledge of prevailing wages.
  • Able to juggle and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to work well with others and is a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Extremely organized and diligent in meeting timelines and deadlines.

Estimator - Oahu

 

We are currently seeking for a qualified and experienced Estimator to join our Oahu team.  The Estimator reviews Federal, State, City & County, and other Contractor bidding websites for upcoming subcontractor bid proposals. This position prepares, coordinates and submits estimates, quotes and bids by the submittal deadline. Monitors and tracks status and outcome of bids; maintains efficient filing system. The Estimator also reviews, analyzes and assesses post bids.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews Federal, State, City & County and Contractor websites for upcoming bidding projects.
  • Reviews all contractors bid schedules for pending projects daily.
  • Reviews, provides and ensures estimates are accurate and submitted prior to bid deadline.
  • Data enters submitted bids/estimates into the Master Bid spreadsheet, data enters information into bid folders.
  • Tracks and monitors all bids/estimates posted on the Master Bid spreadsheet daily.
  • Reviews construction documents/contracts to understand the scope of work to bid.
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, governing requirements, etc.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • High School diploma or GED with at least 3 years of recent related work experience. Associates of Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive work experience in estimating in similar water or construction industry.
  • Understands and familiar with contract documents, blueprints and maps.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong time management and organizational skills, ensure accuracy and great attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask and adjust to changes in schedules and deadlines.
  • Computer proficient with the Internet, Word and Excel (navigating, creating formulas and spreadsheets).

Water Distribution/Treatment Operator – Maui

 

We are currently seeking for a qualified and experienced Water Distribution/Treatment Operator to join our Maui team.  Duties include maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of water and/or wastewater and distribution systems water filtration treatment plants and distribution piping.

 

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • May perform a variety of skilled duties and operations; maintains and repair activities with water and/or wastewater and distribution systems including but not limited to wells, pumps, water catchments and storage systems, water filtration treatment plants, distribution piping, valves, fire hydrants and valves, flow control devices, taps, line stops, backflows, chlorination/dechlorination,  CCTV tank and/or sewer line inspections.
  • Makes daily operations and maintenance inspections of assigned areas such as checking chemical feed systems, water collection and storage sites, water filtration treatment plants, and facility distribution system components.
  • Installs flow meters, and backflow/cross connection prevention assemblies as assigned.
  • Conducts chlorination and de-chlorination of new and retro-fitted water lines.
  • Conducts water sampling of water wells and performs chemical analysis.
  • Test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain distribution system equipment/parts, back flow devices, as well as other water systems and devices in a timely manner.
  • Makes daily operational and maintenance inspections of assigned areas such as checking chemical feed systems, water collection and storage sites, water filtration treatment plants, and facility distribution system components. Informs Tech of any deficiencies and ensures that it is corrected.

 

Qualifications

  • Current Hawaii DSO 1.
  • WTPO 2 preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Able to work evenings, holidays and/or weekends and travel off island as needed.
  • Mechanically inclined and familiar working with hand held tools.
  • Willing to work with wastewater.
  • High School diploma; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of recent work related experience in water and distribution systems preferred.
  • Must be able to clear background checks for access to secure work sites.

GROUND/UNDERGROUND PENETRATING RADAR TECH - OAHU

 

 We are seeking an experienced Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Tech that is familiar using various equipments and techniques/methods needed to scan and locate underground utility cables, pipes, rebars, conduits, etc. Performs GPR structural and ground surveys, and scans at construction and other job sites. Plays a key role in ensuring safety and helping our customers' projects proceed more efficiently. Experienced in analyzing findings and data to provide GPR mapping services to our customers.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma, GED, or the equivalent of a GED and 2 years of related work experience or equivalent work experience and training.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent GPR experience or in similar related experience (i.e., using specialized equipment to find unexploded ordinances, etc).
  • Current valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Solid understanding of various underground/ GPR inspection, investigation, testing and survey techniques/methods.
  • Enjoy working with numbers to analyze results/data to determine location of utility pipes, cables, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and documents.
  • Able to travel frequently to other office locations on the outer islands.
  • Perform hands-on work with ability for adapting to variable field conditions while maintaining quality requirements and following standard procedures.
  • Must be available to work nights/weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry large and heavy equipment and perform physically demanding skilled labor tasks.
  • If selected, must be able to pass background check for access to secure work sites.
